Obamanomics Kills 500 Jobs In Texas
by Liberty Juice September 13 2011
Texas and the EPA have been going at it for some time now, but as we all know one way or another the federal government manages to get its way. If only a group of people would have gotten together during the founding of our country to draft a document to protect state sovereignty and individual liberty.
Obama is warming up for his re-election campaign by touting his jobs plan. I could argue that his so-called “plan” is nothing more than the same old failed Obamanomics / Keynesian economics strategy that has been tried over the past few years, but I believe that is obvious enough. Along the same lines I can argue that Obama hasn’t stopped campaigning since 2008.
We all must keep in mind that the president used the previous stimulus plan to pay back his primary campaign contributors: the various unions. This is why they redefined: "Jobs Created to mean Jobs Saved" The end result was: the supposed stimulus went to save the jobs of friends rather than create new jobs for all Americans.
"I believe President Obama is not being truthful when he says this is not about politics. This is all about politics and everyone knows it. President Obama knows that government regulations will not allow for new construction jobs to be created in the next two years. This is just more political rhetoric. If he truly was serious about creating new jobs, as Donald Trump recently explained; he would have placed a moratorium on EPA and the burdensome building regulations that now delays new construction for many years."
"Is it likely that there will be many jobs created by the president's new plan? NO ... Jobs saved for unions members that give his campaign money? Absolutely. Politics as usual to the max." bw
Interestingly enough, when it came time for Obama to bring a plan of action to the table a representative from Louisiana, a state that has been crushed by Obama’s oppressive regulation machine, made a silent suggestion to Obama via a hand-held sign stating “Drilling = Jobs.” This was a break from decorum, yes, but it was also a common sense suggestion for the President.
The Heritage Foundation quotes the statement Rep. Jeff Landry made before Obama’s address:
Our unemployment rate is the problem, and the solution is simple: drilling equals jobs. By allowing the hard-working people in the Gulf of Mexico to ply their trade, we can save 25,000 jobs. By allowing production in a small portion of ANWR, we can create 250,000 jobs. And by lifting the ban on new offshore drilling, we could create 1.2 million jobs. We must increase domestic energy exploration, expedite the permitting process, and remove the bureaucratic red-tape and barriers on job creators. Producing domestic energy will create jobs across the country, increase revenue to the federal government, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Mr. President, do the right thing: let us drill.
With that in mind, I bring you the sad news that 500 jobs are now being eliminated because of the EPA’s regulations and “unrealistic deadline.”
Texas energy company Luminant announced on Monday new burdensome Environmental Protection Agency regulations are forcing it to close several facilities, which will result in about 500 job losses.
The EPA regulation Luminant cites as too burdensome is the new Cross-State Air Pollution rule, which requires Texas power generators to make “dramatic reductions” in emissions beginning on January 1, 2012.
“We have hundreds of employees who have spent their entire professional careers at Luminant and its predecessor companies,” Luminant CEO David Campbell said in a statement. “At every step of this process, we have tried to minimize these impacts, and it truly saddens me that we are being compelled to take the actions we’ve announced today. We have filed suit to try to avoid these consequences.”
The company said it has been trying to meet the new standards, but won’t be able to do so without closing down several facilities and eliminating 500 jobs.
If Obama was serious about creating jobs – and creating them quick – I know there are a few thousand workers and employers in Texas, Louisiana, and all along the Gulf Coast that have a few suggestions for him. But, why should the Campaigner-in-Chief care about red-state jobs anyway?

900 Years of Energy Reserves ...
Can this possibly be true?
Here's the Problem ...
America has over 900 years worth of oil reserves from one source alone, and we haven't even discussed Alaska's ANWR Oil Reserves yet, or the rest of America's reserves. We haven't even begun a discussion regarding nuclear power. What in the world are these ignorant politicians doing with our republic?
A primary problem is that Environmental scientists, the far left mainstream media, Al Gore, and President Obama have not been truthful to the American people ... and many in the general public believe these debatable conclusions.
Regardless of political party or philosophical point of view, at the very least our politicians and leaders owe the American people honesty. Without honesty from our leaders America will ultimately fail.
The tactic of the environmental movement is to announce that "the science has been settled" and then they moved ahead with shutting down America's energy industry through excessive Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
Goodby Jobs ... hello gas prices that have gone from $1.79 to $4.00 in less than two years. And that is only a small part of the end result; especially when you take into consideration the jobs lost, plus the increased cost of all products shipped by air, truck, and rail ... all across America.
The left is convinced that the if they simply announce that "the science has been settled" and then declare anyone who does not accept their conclusions is ignorant and deluded ... eventually everyone will just agree with their draconian scenario, and the foolish and moronic: "no solution ... solution".
President Obama is the one who said: "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket." January 2008. What he conveniently neglected to explain however is that millions of jobs would be lost, and gas prices would more than double, even without cap and trade.
The environmental movement clearly admits that the solution they offer to solve this supposed problem will have a minimal impact on CO2 emissions during the next one hundred years and they conclude we are doomed regardless ...
but they would have us shut down production of, and consumption of, all carbon fuel related products regardless of the consequences.
"We the people ... are the problem"
Doing something is better than nothing, they say.
even if they are not sure about the problem, or the solution, you ask?
That's right ... shut up and just do it, they say. No further discussion allowed.
Here's a real , Simple Solution ...
Millions of jobs can be created overnight by following three simple steps.
1. Declare energy independence to be our number one national priority.
2. Suspend unnecessary EPA and other regulations that are hindering putting Americans to work.
3. Expand exploration and production of all available forms of American energy immediately.
No need for a long speech ... just do it now!
If President Obama would have made this simple announcement, the resulting economic boom would have easily resulted in his reelection.
Forget about solutions ... take our no our "no solution, solution" or else, they say.
Why would Americans listen to and follow the left's misleading babble?
Al Gore is the spokesman that announced that "the science has been settled" and that an environmental catastrophe of epic proportions will occur in the near future. Our world is on a path to total environmental turmoil and havoc.
The fact is that Gore and his friends have cornered the market for the only option that will be allowed for businesses in the world of the future that they have imagined: carbon offset trading. The idea is for businesses to buy carbon offsets from Al Gore and his friends. these offsets allow for excess carbon emissions. The businesses would simply pass along the added expenses to you and me, the consumers.
We are supposed to make the conclusions of environmental scientists our god and blindly accept whatever they say ... YES, even when they mislead us to further their environmental and monetary goals.
The problem is that many, many prominent scientists do not agree with their babble.

From a Christian's perspective, we are called to care for all God has entrusted us with, but this scheme of men has nothing to do with the truth of God's Word. Prophetic scripture has clearly explained God's plans for the end-times for both the world and all men. In the meantime, those things beyond man's control such as the climate will continue to be managed by God ... not men.
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
Come, behold the works of the LORD,
Who has wrought desolations in the earth.
“Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Psalm 46:1-11
Of course, the source of our current problems is clear to all. Vote accordingly.
God bless you my friends, Bob
