The Christian Life In Context

If you were of the world,
the world would love its own;

but because you are not of the world,
but I chose you out of the world,
because of this the world hates you.

Remember the word that I said to you,
A slave is not greater than his master.
John 15:19-20

A problem some Christians appear to have is that ...
they are living their life out of context.

What does it mean to live your life out of context?

And what qualifications do I have to explain God’s context is for someone else’s life?
God’s Word makes this perfectly clear; but many are clearly ... not listening.

Non-Christians are free to live their lives any way they wish ...
but Christians have been bought and paid for at a price
by Jesus Christ when He died for their sins on the cross at Calvary.

When Christians choose to do whatever they wish ...
and develop whatever philosophy, worldview, values, and priorities they wish,
this is the reason why many view Christians as the worst kind of hypocrites.

When a person believes in Christ as Savior ... at that very moment, he or she is born again spiritually and becomes a citizen of heaven eternally. The scriptures explain that “old things have passed away and new things have come.”

We have been given the honor to abide above in fellowship with the Holy Spirit ...
while we are still here on the earth in our flesh.

"Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:1-3

We are also told that … we are no longer to be conformed (to the teachings of the world) but be transformed by the renewing of our minds … so that we may prove (the life that we live will demonstrate) what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

Additionally, “we are to no longer live for ourselves, but instead are to live for Him who died and rose again on our behalf.”  2 Corinthians 5:14-21 - All Christians have been given a mission as ambassadors for Christ with a ministry of reconciliation.

It is God’s plan for Christ to speak to those who do not know Him through each of us. And Also that the life that we live in their midst, becomes an ongoing witness of His never-ending love and forgiveness ... which is available to everyone. This is our context as Christians.

So what does it mean for Christians to live their life out of context?

Well … before we became Christians we were trained and conditioned in the ways of the world but once we believed in Jesus and accepted Him as our Lord and Savior, we are to be in the world; but no longer of the world. An ambassador is an official representative in a foreign land that is strange or foreign to him.

We are to be transformed, and to see things and people with a renewed heart and mind; and by the leading of the Holy Spirit and His eternal Truth. Many Christians appear to not even acknowledge the existence of the Holy Spirit, and have decided to continue to follow the teachings of men; rather than the eternal Truth of God’s Word.

The idea of biblical absolutes, and the Lord’s moment by moment presence and leading is foreign to these Christians because they are living as foreigners to Christ. To measure the teachings of men up against God’s truth has never occurred to them. They pray to Christ and believe in Him; but then they continue on and live their lives as if nothing has changed. This is a Christian living their life out of context.

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly. 1 Corinthians 3:1-3

Jesus explains this present reality more clearly here:

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:1-6

But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR [God's] OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY. 1 Peter 1:9-10

Things have changed … and we all need to be the person Jesus has called us to be.

God bless you my friends, Bob

The Days of Noah

“And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:26-27

Was Jesus Lying when He taught about Noah?
Jesus Lie?
Never … I say.

Why would I ask such a question? Well, according to the most recent Gallup Poll … 54% of Americans reject biblical creation which would obviously apply in the story of Noah and the Ark as well. This number equals 30-35% of professing American Christians.

This issue is critical to the Christian faith.
If Jesus lied Christianity is just another false religion.

Jesus also said:
“I and the Father are one.”
"The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him." John 10:30-31
To reject the Creator God is to reject Jesus Christ the Savior ... who is also the Creator God.

If the story of Noah did not happen as Jesus said and confirmed it happened. My faith in Jesus is destroyed. Jesus also speaks similarly here to the story of Lot and then relates these ancient accounts to the end times.

Jesus was there at the beginning, and Jesus claims to be the eternal Truth,
and to know all Truth.

We are also told Jesus is not capable of a lie. If He lied (which He did not) then He would no longer be the perfect sinless unblemished lamb who was offered up on the cross for your sins and mine. Eternal life through Him would be a hopeless fantasy as well.

Why would anyone believe in the virgin birth for example? Surely it is equally as difficult to believe as are the stories of creation, Noah, Lot, and Jonah … or what about the miracles of Christ including the resurrection of Lazarus from death, the feeding of 5,000 and many others. The resurrection of Jesus --- you cannot be serious?  What would cause anyone who finds the creation story impossible --- to accept that Jesus deliberately suffered death on a cross and then resurrected Himself from the dead?

Do you see the many contradictions which result in hypocrisy and faithless Christians? For atheists and evolutionists, as my atheist friend says: "when I die I'm dirt" ... there is no hope without Christ, and we would now all clearly be in the same boat with them.

With all of the supposed scientific evidence, how can I believe the biblical story of creation and reject the theory of evolution and many of the evolution teachings. The answer is really quite simple. I have received Jesus Christ by faith in Him and His gospel. The evolutionists on the other hand have accepted Darwin’s evolution theory by a similar religious faith, and then attempted to build a narrative around it. This act of circular reasoning is more a description of a godless religion than of legitimate science.

What does God have to say about the wisdom of men?
Pride is the most subtle and deceitful area of sin.

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS”; and again, “THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS.” So then let no one boast in men.
1 Corinthians 3:18-20

For me, this pretty much closes the discussion for biblically-minded Christians. If there is a Creator God, and if Jesus Christ is the perfect Savior of mankind, then the wisdom of men is rendered foolish regardless of feelings and logic.

God's miracles are not subject to anything men might conclude by feelings or logic.

All men are opened up to accepting false beliefs when they look to their own wisdom, logic, feelings, or the teachings of men for answers. God’s eternal Truth is beyond human comprehension. Only the Holy Spirit opening our eyes to His Truth allows us to gain His wisdom and discernment.

The atheist evolutionists have alienated any views that do not support this atheistic naturalist Darwinist narrative, and this alienation includes the views and evidence presented by renowned nobel prize winning scientists.

Their next step was to teach evolution to two generations of American children as fact. This same tactic is now being used with manmade global warming. The end result is that our society has become more godless, and more and more people have accepted a godless answer to these most important questions affecting us all.

And currently approximately 30-35% of all professing American Christians have accepted some form of evolution as truth as well. The bible clearly predicted this current reality would appear in the end times. This is why I continually speak out against evolution which is a doctrine of demons. Good men can easily be deceived. Here is what the bible predicted.

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.  Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;  and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2 Peter 2:1-5

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.
2 Peter 3:3-6

Obviously Peter was not speaking allegorically in the above text. If Peter lied as well, then the enemies of Christ crucified him upside down for his lies.

Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.  But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.  You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:12-17

In the most recent Ham/Nye “Creation Versus Evolution” debate, I heard the following:
Ken Ham: "All Christian doctrine can be found in Genesis
My Answer: How can anyone blindly ignore the miracle of this fact?
Bill Nye: "What do you do with the millions of Christians
who do not agree with your views on Creation?"

My Answer: What good is a lying savior to the  81 million plus Christian evolutionists?
My Answer: One of us is wrong … I choose to follow God’s Word of Truth.
Bill Nye: "To accept your views, I would have to believe in Magic"
My Answer: You say the theory of evolution does not require a belief in magic, please?
My Answer: Christians call these claims miracles, not magic ...
and yes I do believe in God’s Miracles.

Pat Robertson foolishly agrees with Bill Nye and is now being quoted by atheists and communists to further promote their godless views. As noted above, millions of professing Christians also agree with the atheist evolutionist Nye, rather than Jesus and God's Word.

Here is a question for you: When those who claim to believe in Jesus Christ reject the God of Creation who is also Jesus Christ … where does this leave them?

I am proud to stand with Christ and His Gospel ...
and reject evolution and the Darwinian deception.

If the world views this stand as foolishness ...
oh well, I do not seek to please the world.

Make no mistake, salvation is secure for believers in Christ. But a hypocritical false witness for evolution leads many away from the Savior Creator as they attempt to be politically correct.

God bless you my friends, Bob
